20 Mar Infor solutions to optimize county's operations
For today's government systems, it is crucial to update important processes to take advantage of the best available IT solutions. Leading business application software provider Infor has announced that it has been selected by Illinois' DuPage County to streamline and integrate some of the community's operations.
Infor reported that the focus for DuPage County will be in implementing a system that brings together its finance and human resource management applications to improve budgetary decisions. Tools like Infor Lawson Enterprise Financial Management will be used to generate accurate, timely reports on the county's spending, which will allow officials to adjust spending on the fly.
According to Ciber, an IT consulting company helping with the Infor systems implementation, DuPage County may save taxpayers $9 million over the next 20 years by upgrading to efficiency-boosting enterprise resource planning tools.
The Infor applications will likely come in handy for reducing the amount of data entry required by employees and minimize the likelihood of fraud or accounting mistakes by producing a single source of payroll records.
"Connectivity between human resources and finance departments is essential for governments to successfully maximize their revenue through better budgeting," said Kevin Curry, SVP, public sector, Infor.
By using advanced IT solutions that provide better analytical tools, Curry continued, government agencies can make more informed business decisions and provide both employees and the public with resources and initiatives that could improve convenience and quality of life.
