Amber Lawhun
Get to know our incredible Chief Marketing Officer, Amber Lawhun! Her top priority is discovering ways that we can be a better partner for our customers. She leads our team in bringing the best enablement to our local markets. Amber works directly with our partners, customer experience specialists, and sales teams to ensure that we are always giving our customers the best solution, at the best value. She is integral to the Pinnacle team!
What do you love about living in Richmond and traveling to our OKC office?
I grew up in Virginia, so when we had an opportunity to move back after 6 years of traveling while my husband was building his career in the Air Force we jumped at the chance! It’s a beautiful state with easy access to the beach and the mountains. Having been at Pinnacle for 14 years, I definitely call Oklahoma my second home and I love it!
If you could spend a day in someone else’s shoes, who would you choose and why?
I wish we could really do this! I’d pick a person that I am having a hard time understanding at the moment. I feel like when we don’t like someone, it’s because we can’t empathize with them and through empathy, we develop understanding.
Knowing what you know now, what advice would you give your 18-year-old self?
Your biggest successes in life will come from following your gut, nurturing what you love, and just asking the question. I think our biggest hurdles in life come from second-guessing ourselves, thinking the grass is greener, and miscommunications. Following the three tips above leads to never looking back on a decision.
How can someone win a gold star with you?
Effort and authenticity.
What’s your hidden talent?
It’s unfortunately still hidden!
What’s the first concert you attended?
Alabama.
If you could be any animal, what would you be and why?
I’m not a huge animal lover (don’t hate me!) but I’ve always been fascinated by flight and the beauty of our national bird, so a Bald Eagle.
Where do you most hope to visit?
Ireland. I imagine the landscape to be as beautiful as the pictures and with a recent discovery of Irish roots (via 23andme), I’d like to spend some time exploring!
If you could win an Olympic medal for any sport, real or fake, what would it be?
Zero hesitation, Olympic Track & Field 400 meter relay runner.
