How long have you worked at Pinnacle and why did you choose to work here?
I joined Pinnacle on April 1, 2020, so approaching 4 months now. I chose Pinnacle for numerous reasons, but I really focused on the culture of the organization and the character by which the employees carry every day. I see Pinnacle as an IT solution-driven partner, where we focus on the needs of our customers and recommend accordingly. The extensive resources within Pinnacle continue to impress me and I truly feel like there isn’t an initiative or goal we can’t help resolve.
What job did you have in high school?
My first paying job was in a bagged ice supply company in my home town. Every morning and afternoon we scooped ice from machines and filled the bags in a hot warehouse and then stored them in a freezer until delivery, which we also helped with. I quickly realized this was not ideal for me so I took the necessary training to be a lifeguard and did that for the next 5 summers, even into college.
What is your go-to karaoke song?
I’ve sung many and can’t say I sang any of them well but my favorite is “King of Wishful Thinking” by Go West.
Who is your favorite cartoon character?
I came from a family of 3 boys and we LOVED the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles for the longest time. I’ve tried to introduce my kids to TMNT but kids now have access to so many other great cartoons that they just don’t see the luster I did growing up.
How do you like to spend your time when you aren’t working?
My wife and I love to travel and 2020 has been a year of almost zero travel so we are anxious to get back out and explore. Otherwise, doing outdoor activities are a big part of my preferred active lifestyle. Regular golfing, hiking, fishing, and hunting trips keep me happy.
What’s the greatest bit of advice you’ve ever been given?
Don’t sweat the small stuff and focus on the good in your life. So often, we worry about things in our lives rather than focusing on the gifts and pleasures we already have. It’s so great to take some time to appreciate life and our blessings, rather than stressing about every little thing.
How would you spend one million dollars?
I would probably invest most of it, rather than immediately spend but that’s not as exciting. So I’ll say for entertainment sake that I would pay off my house and take a year off work and travel the world with my family.
What is the best thing that happened to you this week?
This week, I was presented with an opportunity to play a round of golf this weekend at a pretty prestigious course (members only). Looking forward to that!
What is one skill every person should have?
I truly feel like patience is a skill that most people lack and if we could all be more patient with life and each other, we’d be in a much better place.
What are you going to do when you retire?
I’m sure I’ve mentioned before but travel will be my primary goal. Yes, I want to spend time with my family and friends but there are so many amazing places I’ve yet to visit and plan on doing so then.
